    Curtis Craven

    Curtis Craven, 78, of Eridu passed away on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021.

    He was born June 23, 1943, in Jones County, Miss., to Leroy and Mary Lou Craven. He was born of the Baptist faith.

    Curtis worked more than 40 years for Tomatoes of Ruskin before retiring.

    After retiring he was able to do what he loved best: spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf carting, and loved traveling, as well as being a Georgia Bulldog fan.

    He was a member of the American Legion Post 291 in Steinhatchee.

    He is preceded in death by: his parents, Leroy and Mary Lou Craven; his son, Donnie Cauley; his daughter, Marie Rayfield; two sisters, Sue Shiver and Sandy Newton; and his brother, Willie Craven.

    He is survived by : his wife of 40 years, Donna J. Craven; his children, Lisa (John) Warwick of Biloxi, Miss., Brenda (Timmy) Carmichael of Steinhatchee, Lee (Ray) Vann of Perry, David Cauley of Perry and Roy (Martha) Rayfield of Florida; two sisters and four brothers, Betty Gatlin of Warner Robins, Ga., Patricia Haden of Laurel, Miss., James (Carmen) Craven of Brooksville, Steve (Judy) Craven of Dade City, Ala., Stanley (Samira) Craven of Acworth, Ga., and J.R. (Patty) Craven of Ruskin; his grandchildren, Curtis Craven II, Ricky Loper, Willie (Regina) Loper, all from Mississippi, Edward (Reeva) Holifield, Chris Holifield, Kristan Holifield, LeAnn Shreve, Zackery (Ciara) Morris and DJ Cauley, all from Florida; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; as well as a host of nieces and nephews from Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

    Memorial services will be Saturday, Nov. 13, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Eridu. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 2 p.m.
