Esther Louise High, 52, passed away on Nov. 7, 2021, at her home in Perry.
She was born Nov. 27, 1968, in Naples to Barney Smith and Miriam Sussman Smith.
Esther honorably served her country in the United States Army. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and granny.
She was a faithful member and Sunday School teacher at Steinhatchee Revival Center for many years. She was very nurturing and loved to take care of her family.
Esther was preceded in death by: her father, Barney Smith; one son, “Little Jesse” High; a sister, Rebecca Smith Singletary; and a brother, Thomas Smith.
She is survived by: her husband of 34 years, Herbie; children, Jonathan (Trudie) High, Daniel (Kayla) High, adopted “strays” Larmie and Amanda Poppell, Philip and April Porter; 10 grandchildren, Josiah, Judah, Rebekah, Cayleigh, Jaxsyn, one on the way, Emma, Sebastian, Eli, Hannah’Jo and Autumn; her mother, Miriam Shaw; and two brothers, Henry and Jack Smith; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. at Antioch Revival Center with Brother Cricket Watson and Brother Herbie High officiating. Interment services followed in Carlton Cemetery.
