    ‘The French Dispatch’ is a quirky, heartfelt love letter to journalists

    While I have always been a voracious reader, I’ve rarely found myself picking up a magazine and simply reading it, aside from when I pick up one for a particular article. However, on those rare occasions I’ve opened a magazine and just began reading, the anticipation and wonder of what the next article might bring was quite exhilarating.

    It is exactly that quality which is captured in Wes Anderson’s (“The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Moonrise Kingdom”) latest film, “The French Dispatch.”

    Described in its own official synopsis as a “lover letter to journalists,” the anthology film is centered around the fictional “French Dispatch,” modeled after the real-life New Yorker magazine.
