County commission to seek additional money from the Florida Legislature for new fire station

The Taylor County Commission has made several changes to its state legislative requests, adding the proposed new fire station north of Perry — which is currently well over budget — and increasing the amount of funding the county is requesting for the Taylor County Sports Complex.

Facing a Nov. 1 deadline to submit their requests, county commissioners discussed the issue of the fire station at a special meeting on Oct. 26.
