Thomas Leo Edwards

Mr. Thomas Leo Edwards, 92, passed away on Nov. 12, 2021, in Perry. Leo was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Boyd to Johnny Edwards and Foye Blue Edwards. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting and going to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Leo was preceded in death by: his wife of 59 years, Myrtie Edwards; his parents, Johnny Edwards and Foye Edwards McDonald; his infant daughter, Angel; another daughter, Linda Conley; grandson, Jonathan Brandon Edwards; greatgrandson, Zach Stephens; his sister, Alberta Green; and his brother, Joe Henry Edwards. He is survived by: one daughter, Debbie Joyce and her husband, Joe; sons, Gary Edwards and Johnny Edwards and his wife, Victoria; grandchildren, Nikki Stephens, Jessica Sousa, Kaci Edwards, Annabelle Roberts, Josh Sands and Justin Sands; and 10 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Zane, Ryder, Gunner, Penny, Marley, Tuf, Tate, Tifton and Ramsey; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Pastor Cody McNeese officiating. Interment services followed in Pisgah Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, Nov. 1, from 4-6 p.m., at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
