The Florida Forest Service (FFS) responded to 29 wildfires during its last fiscal year, battling blazes that burned a combined 317 acres in the county, including 134 acres lost to arson.
During its Nov. 1 meeting, the Taylor County Commission received a report from local FFS officials, although they were not present themselves at the meeting due to COVID-19 restrictions within the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
