Fun, action-filled ‘Jungle Cruise’ is now available for free on Disney+

I was planning on reviewing Netflix’s “Red Notice” this week, but then I found out that Disney’s live-action “Jungle Cruise” movie debuted on Disney+ last Friday for all subscribers after previously being only available for a premium charge.

The premiers of “Jungle Cruise” and Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” were highlights of the otherwise lackluster Disney+ Day promotion, which also featured a handful of trailers and sizzle reels, but nothing to the extent I had expected based on the amount of advertising Disney threw at us.

As for “Jungle Cruise,” I had originally wanted to see the movie when it debuted in theaters back at the end of July, but life got in the way, and I never got a chance to see it on the big screen.

Despite my television being a poor substitute — I really need to start looking at Black Friday deals — “Jungle Cruise” turned out to be a lot of fun, sporting two great lead performances from Dwayne Johnson (“Fast Five”) and Emily Blunt (“A Quiet Place”), lots of swashbuckling action and a plot with just enough meat on its bones to keep everything tied together.
