When the Florida A&M football team travels to Hammond, La., this Saturday, Nov. 4 to play in the first round of the NCAA Division I Football Championship, they will bring with them a number of connections to Taylor County, including four players and Co-Defensive Coordinator Ryan Smith.
Sophomore safety Lovie Jenkins, who played high school ball at Ocoee High School in Orlando, is the son of Archaie Thomas, a Perry native and has a large family still residing here.
