Michael “Mike” Alan Batten

Michael “Mike” Alan Batten, 56, passed away on Nov. 19, 2021, in Perry. Mike was born Jan. 15, 1965, in Perry to Thomas Batten and Iduma Eakins Batten. He was a Baptist. Mike was a master boat builder for many years, from fiber glassing, gel coating, to being a mechanic on motors. He knew everything about how to make and repair boats. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He also enjoyed sports, and was a dedicated Florida Gator fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Iduma Batten. Mike is survived by: his children, Anna Woods and Benjamin Batten; his sisters, Teresa Parker, Sharon Larson and Sharlene Rodriguez; his brothers, Gary Batten, Tom Batten, Robert Batten, Ronnie Batten, and Jim Cope; and three grandchildren, Lexi and Luke Woods, and Ella Batten; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
