    Grace Marie Parker

    Grace Marie Parker was born in Grove City, Pa., on Feb. 19, 1931, and fell asleep in death on Nov. 20, 2021, at the age of 90. She lived in Perry for the last 29 years. Anyone who knew Gracie knew she was someone who loved to laugh! Her parents, Linus and Mamie Shank, had a farm where she grew up with her eight siblings.

    She could always find the bright side, even when she was waking up at 4 a.m. to milk the cows. She had a happy life and that is primarily because at a young age she developed a strong friendship with the Creator, Jehovah God.

    She married Thomas Parker on May 6, 1950, and they moved to Monticello in 1971 where they continued to sharing their Bible-based beliefs with the community.

    They stayed in the area between Monticello, Perry and Tallahassee, eventually settling in Perry in 1993, where they lived happily together until Tom passed away in 2015.

    Gracie always enjoyed spending time with her family, congregation and outside in nature as much as possible. She loved to garden, tend to her flowers and cared for a variety of animals. She was proceeded in death by her parents, seven siblings and her husband.

    She is survived by: one sister, Bertha Nightingale; two children, Timothy (Kelley) Parker and Denise (Jay) Taylor; two grandchildren, Terrance (Megan) Taylor and Tabitha (Hunter) Martin; and one great-grandchild, Gabriel Martin.

    A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. On Zoom. The meeting ID is 885 3367 8853.
