Bonnie Cliffogene Bicknell Knight was born in Glenwood Springs, Colo., on Sept. 2, 1933.She died Dec. 1, 2021. She was 88.Her father was Clifford Alfred Bicknell. Her mother was Thelma Barbara Wallace Bicknell. She was raised by her grandparents, David Emory Bicknell, Lucy Bicknell, and Jack Wallace. She had one brother, Jackie Bicknell, who preceded her in death in 1972. She met her husband, William L. (Billy) Knight, in 1951, while he was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in Denver. They were married in Meeker, Colo., in 1953. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1956, they moved to Perry where she lived until her death. Bonnie worked as a cartographer for Procter & Gamble, where she helped transfer P&G’s more than 500,000 acres of forestland from aerial photographs to paper maps the foresters used to identify the different types of terrain and trees the property contained, all by hand. It was a painstaking and time consuming process, which was performed with the utmost accuracy and detail. When P&G sold to Foley Lands and Timber, they hired her. While at Foley Lands and Timber, she was responsible for converting the old paper maps into the new computer based GIS map electronic format. She loved her job and the people she worked with. She retired after 35 years of service to the two companies. When her father and mother-in-law, Bill and Boots Knight, went into the nursing home here, she checked on them every day and attended their every need. She raised three knotheads, Russ, Scott and Todd, all while working full-time. Todd passed away of cancer in March 2012, which crushed her. We were all blessed by her loving, uncritical and gentle spirit, as was everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was the best mom, ever. She was a born-again Christian with saving faith in Jesus Christ, and while we mourn her loss, we are comforted by our Lord Jesus, knowing that death is only a temporary separation. Bonnie is survived by: her husband of 68 years, William L. (Billy) Knight; her sons, Russ (Donna) Knight and Scott (Tammy) Knight; grandchildren, Will Knight, Claire Knight, Justin (Meagan) Knight and Ashley Knight; one great-grandchild and her joy, Alaina Valerie Knight; and a half-sister, Carol Miller of Pioche, Nev.Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery with Brother David McMullen officiating.
