The Taylor County Commission plans to seek a state grant to cover the cost of removing a derelict vessel from the Steinhatchee River.
At the commission’s Nov. 16 meeting, County Administrator LaWanda Pemberton said she had received a letter from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Officer Travis Cooper notifying her that FWC had determined the vessel “is abandoned and derelict” as defined by Florida Statutes.
