The Taylor County Commission has agreed to spend approximately $76,000 to acquire the property needed to widen and straighten Deadman’s Curve on Beach Road, the site of a number of fatal crashes over the years.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has pledged to pay the construction costs associated with the project — estimated to be around $600,000 — if the county first secures the needed property.
