    BBTC receives $2 million

    Gov. Ron DeSantis (center) announced the award of a $2 million grant to Taylor County’s Big Bend Technical College (BBTC) for the construction of a new state-of-the-art health sciences facility. BBTC Director Jodi Tillman (left) was joined by her son, Chas Geiger (right), for the presentation.

    Big Bend Technical College (BBTC) received a $2 million Christmas gift from Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday, Dec. 16, which will be used to construct and equip a new 4,000-square-foot health and sciences building.

    The award will help expand the college’s existing health and science programs, which serve more than 100 nursing students annually, enabling BBTC to offer state-of-the-art programmable manikins, virtual reality equipment and software to replicate real-world scenarios for advanced clinical learning in Practical Nursing, Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant and Phlebotomy programs.
