For the first time in nearly a month, the weekly number of new cases of COVID-19 reported in Taylor County fell last week, although cases across the state more than doubled during the same time period.
According to the weekly report from the Florida Department of Health (DOH), there were 17 new cases reported in Taylor County during the seven-day period that ended Thursday, Dec. 16. This was down from the 22 cases reported the previous week, the first drop after three straight weeks of increasing cases.
