By opting out of participating in a state opioid litigation settlement, the City of Perry will forgo nearly $57,000 and instead allow those funds to “roll up” to the county.
At its Dec. 15 meeting, the city council discussed the pros and cons of participating in the state and county litigation against various pharmaceutical companies, which would require the city to sign a pair of settlement participation agreements similar to those signed by the Taylor County Commission last week.
