A fast-moving major winter storm caused widespread flooding and minor property damage along the Taylor County coast in the early-morning hours of Monday, Jan. 3.
In the pre-dawn hours of the first working day of the new year, the cold front that spawned a tornado watch and coastal flood warnings also caused temperatures to plummet from 75 degrees to just shy of freezing in a matter of hours.
