Norma Grace Johnson

Norma Grace Johnson, 78, passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2021, at her home in Shady Grove.

She was born July 27, 1943, in Panama City to Turner Phelps and Laforrest Mae Phelps.

Mrs. Johnson was of the Church of Christ faith and was a member of Ash Street Church of Christ. Norma was a seamstress most of her life, making many dresses for family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and tatting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Turner and Laforrest Mae Phelps.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by: her husband of 53 years, Laymon Johnson; cousin, Jesse (Murlene) Phelps; and sisters-in-law, Trula (Buddy) Overcash and Darlene (John) Silvestri; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services were held on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at 3 p.m. at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church with Brother Theo Elam officiating.

A celebration of her life will be held at her church at a later date.
