William Walter Johnson

William Walter Johnson, 58, passed away on Jan. 2, 2022, in Perry.

Walter was born Jan. 12, 1963, in Perry to John Johnson and Ruby Mae Connell Johnson.

He loved spending time with his grandkids and being in the woods. He dedicated many years of his life working the log woods, working on skidders, loaders and running his own crew.  

Walter was preceded in death by: his parents, John and Ruby Mae Johnson; his brothers, James Willard Johnson, Sam Johnson, Jack Johnson, Richard Johnson and Bill Crews; stepdaughter Jeannie Gilbert; granddaughter, Patsy Gilbert; and his grandson, Mauricio James Sanchez.

He is survived by: his wife, Patsy Johnson; two children, Jenni Johnson and John Johnson; stepdaughter, Amanda Padgett; siblings, Jeff Johnson and Rocky Davis; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 7, at 2 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Pastor Cricket Watson officiating. Interment services will follow in Connell Cemetery.

The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
