    Ellis Wayne Connell

    Ellis Wayne Connell, 69, passed away on Jan. 2, 2022, at his residence in Perry. Wayne was born June 2, 1952, in Perry to Ivy Connell and Ellie Lee Ellison Connell. He was of the Christian faith and worked with Procter and Gamble and Buckeye as an operator for more than 47 years. Wayne was a member of the Perry Elks Club, where he served as the Exalted Ruler for two different terms. He was also a life member of the N.R.A. and a member of the Taylor County Bow Hunter’s Association in the 1970s and Camp Misery Hunting Club. He loved spending time with family and friends on his ranch and on the skeet and shooting range. Wayne was preceded in death by: his parents, Ivy Connell and Ellie Lee Ellison Connell; two sisters, Louise Hansen and Wanda Kemp and three brothers, J.C., Junior and Gene Connell. Wayne is survived by: his wife of 24 years, Kathy Connell; his daughter, Sandy Gail, and her mom Drucilla; his two stepdaughters, Cindy and Amanda; his sister, Yonna Pitts; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Zane, James and Jaxson; and one nephew, Patrick Connell. A celebration of life gathering was held on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Lillian Ann Odom Lillian Ann Odom, 65, died Jan. 5, 2022, at Doctors’ Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Perry, she was born in Dade City to George and Bertha Allen. She graduated from Taylor County High School and loved to travel, go to yard sales and collect rocks, as well as fishing, camping and spending time with family. Lillian was a registered medical assistant for Dr. Diane Schlick and served as the area supervisor for Goodwill Industries. She was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by: her husband of 39 years, Terry Odom; daughters, Amy Odom, Jamie (Fabian) Urioste and Amber (Pepper) Smith; sisters, Gladys Bailey, Lucile Wilder, Carol Stanton, Nancy Cruse and Marie Norman; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services are to be announced at a later date.
