Man punches police officer during arrest

A suspect who became combative with police officers – punching one in the face – also attacked a corrections officer at the jail while being strip-searched, resulting in multiple battery and assault charges.

Edward “Eddie” Lafayette Porter, 31, is being held without bail at the Taylor County Jail and is facing two “battery on law enforcement officer” charges, as well as charges for assault and resisting arrest.
