    Mixon named District Teacher of the Year

    The Taylor County School District’s “Teacher of the Year” Lori Mixon (center) was joined by her husband, Scott (left), and daughter, Ashley Wentworth (right), last week as she was honored at Taylor County Primary School with a plaque and bouquet of roses.

    What made you feel special in school?

    A teacher greeting you by name in the hallway?

    A quick hug welcoming you when you walked into class?

    Being told “good job” when a lesson finally “clicked?”

    Taylor County School District’s “Teacher of the Year” Lori Mixon does all of that and more each and every day at Taylor County Primary School (TCPS), interacting with children from Pre-K to second grade in her role as guidance coordinator.
