Mildred Maxine Lewis

Mrs. Mildred Maxine Lewis, 82, passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, in Tallahassee.  The family will receive friends today (Friday), Jan. 21, at Begg’s Funeral Home Chapel of Perry from 1:30-2:30 p.m. with graveside services to be held at Pisgah Cemetery. Maxine was born Jan. 6, 1940, in Westville, Fla., to John Wesley and Cora Dell Hornsby. After she graduated high school, she moved to Perry where she married Bobby Lee Lewis. She was a bookkeeper for several local businesses, including Perry Lumber Company, J & J Equipment and TACO Saw and Equipment. She loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Bobby Lee Lewis; son, Bobby Lee Lewis Jr.; her parents, John and Cora Hornsby; and her siblings, Jimmy Hornsby, James Hornsby, Sybil Williams, Vera LaJean Edwards and Helen Hornsby; and an infant brother. She is survived by: her son, Mark Henry Lewis of Perry; a daughter, Sandra Lewis of Babson Park; and a brother, John William “J.W.” Hornsby and his wife, Katherine, of Perry. Donations can be made in her memory to a no-kill local animal shelter. Beggs Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements
