Local high school students who wish to pursue a job as a preschool teacher will soon have a chance to get a head start on the necessary coursework, thanks to a $70,000 grant awarded to the Taylor County School District.
At the school board’s most recent Jan. 18 meeting, it was announced the $70,000 “start-up” grant awarded by the Rural Development Partners’ Community Investment Program will allow the school to offer an Early Childhood Education (ECE) program.
