10% of students miss school due to COVID

Roughly 10% of the Taylor County School District’s student body was not in school on Thursday, while some 50 staff members were also out, many due to COVID-19.

According to figured provided by district officials, 281 students were absent Thursday. The district started the school year with 2,839 total students.
