New Lions Club forming in Perry

All community service-minded individuals are invited to join a new Lions Club being formed in the Perry community.

Two informational and organization meetings will be held Friday, Feb. 11, and Friday, Feb. 18, at noon at Mama’s Italian Family Restaurant. Membership cost is $50 semi-annually.

Lions Clubs International is one of the largest service clubs in the world, with more than 1.4 million members in over 48,000 clubs in 210 countries “who care about their communities and find personal satisfaction by helping others,” organizers said.

“Lions Clubs provide eye examinations, eye glasses and eye surgeries to the less fortunate, plus support projects that improve education, assist the disabled and improve the safety of the community. Each Lions Club determines the projects that the members feel will benefit their community the most.”
