‘Animal Army’ donates 33 new dog beds for local shelter

One look at those sad puppy dog eyes and the converted blue plastic container that was the big red dog’s only protection from the cold concrete floor, and Kelly Detwiler knew it was time to active the “Animal Army.”

She and her husband, Bob, launched a “get them off the concrete” fundraiser for the dogs at the Taylor County Animal Shelter and within eight days had enough money to purchase 33 new heavy-duty, high-quality aluminum beds for the shelter.
