City to recognize Juneteenth holiday

The City of Perry has voted to recognize “Juneteenth National Independence Day” as a federal holiday, amending its policy to add June 19 to the list of paid days off for city employees.

City Manager Taylor Brown brought the item up for discussion at the city’s Jan. 25 meeting, stating he placed the item on the agenda to help finalize the city’s schedule for the upcoming year.
