Lewis Allen Stanley, 87, passed away on Feb. 13, 2022.

He was born Jan. 5, 1935, in Largo to Elmo Wendell Stanley and Hazel Boyette Stanley.

Lewis honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps; his most interesting assignment was being stationed at the U.S. embassy in Caracas, Venezuela.

After his service, he graduated from the University of Florida and worked for many years as a security analyst.

He enjoyed extensive travel with his companion, Louise, visiting numerous countries. They especially loved spending summers in Boone, N.C., with friends Rob and Kathy and Curt and Judy.

Aside from his family, being a Marine gave him great pride.

He will be remembered for his Christian faith and his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his savior. His Bible was readily at his fingertips next to his favorite chair, and he frequently enjoyed fellowship with his Christian friends who visited.

He is survived by: his brother, Gerald H. Stanley and sister-in-law, Susan, of Lutz; brother, John L. Stanley of Inverness; his longtime companion, Louise Jackson of Tampa; his daughter, Gayle Stanley Rogers and son-in-law, David Johnson, of Topsfield, Mass.; his sons, Lewis Allen Stanley Jr. (Candy Vurro) of Steinhatcheel Andrew Phillip Stanley (Lora Watson) of Plant City; his daughter, Dina Stanley Martiinez and son-in-law, Lazaro, of Tampa; his stepdaughter, VeeAnn Mahdieh and son-in-law, Amir; grandchildren, Brett Rogers and Jackson Rogers and Camille, Devan and Samira Mahdieh; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
