Taylor County Habitat for Humanity has relocated to the office complex next door to The Book Mart on U.S. Highway 19 South (Byron Butler Parkway), Executive Director Karol Newport Barr announced this week.
The move, made necessary when their former office building on South Jefferson Street was purchased for the construction of a new bank, has slowed work on the home build in Steinhatchee, she explained.
“However, we are now ready to get back to the finish work needed to get the home move in ready,”she said.
Although work has been slowed, most of the dry wall has been installed and Habitat is ready to schedule work days to get the walls and ceiling mudded and painted. The cabinets and light fixtures are on hand and ready for installation, the director said.
“We will be having a work day Tuesday, Feb. 22, and will welcome any volunteers who can join us,” Barr said.
Anyone interested in helping is asked to call Barr at the Habitat office at (850) 584-3838.
“Please leave a message if I am not in,” Barr added.
