City moves to ‘Plan B’ for sewer fix

After an initial repair attempt failed, the City of Perry is now pursuing a “Plan B” fix to a sewer line leak on Hwy. 19 near the Hampton Inn.

The city’s sewer line main developed a leak in a joint under the major highway late last year, prompting the city to hire a contractor that attempted to bore under the highway and pull a “sleeve” — or smaller diameter line — through the existing bigger pipe from one side of the highway to the other near the intersection with Plantation Road.
