Vaping continues to be an ongoing problem in Taylor County schools, despite a “zero tolerance” policy that has called for expulsion if a student is caught vaping or in possession of an electronic vaping device.
In January, the district purchased and installed HALO IOT Smart Vape Detector sensors at a cost of $24,150 and installed them in the bathrooms at the middle and high schools.
