Man faces multiple felonies

After being held in Dixie County for the past five weeks, a Steinhatchee man is back in Taylor County to face multiple felony charges stemming from a Jan. 14 incident in which he tried to ram a sheriff deputy’s patrol vehicle during a high-speed chase.

Jason Luther Davis, 39, was apprehended by Dixie County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Jan. 14 and extradited back to Taylor County on Monday, Feb. 21, to face felony charges of grand theft (motor vehicle), fleeing/eluding law enforcement officers, assault on a law enforcement officer, grand theft of a firearm, resisting officer without violence and driving with a suspended license.
