    33-acre wildfire threatened several homes

    Rapid response and “excellent coordination” on the part of multiple agencies resulted in the quick containment of an “extremely dangerous” wildfire that threatened homes just south of Steinhatchee on Friday.

    This same day the state issued wildfire danger warnings due to extremely dry conditions and high winds, a land-clearing burn pile escaped just north of Hwy. 51 in Steinhatchee around 2:40 p.m. Friday.
