Discrimination suit withdrawn

Faced with the possibility of having to pay the city’s attorneys fees if claims of racial and gender discrimination were later determined to be baseless, the attorney representing former city manager applicant Rosalyn Evans has filed a “Notice of Voluntary Dismissal With Prejudice,” permanently dismissing her claims.

The notice of dismissal was filed by Attorney Jim Garrity of the Mattox Law Firm in Tallahassee on Tuesday, March 1 – one month after City Attorney Ray Curtis was deposed and several members of the city council received subpoenas to provide sworn depositions in the discrimination lawsuit filed against the City of Perry.
