Peggy Ferrell Hart Vaughan, 65, of Valdosta,Ga., passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2022. She was born on March 22, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in Perry.
She was a graduate of Taylor County High School, Class of 1974, and received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Florida State University in 1981.
Peggy served as a caseworker for many years with the Florida Department of Corrections, where she touched many lives in a positive way.
Later, she joined Automotive Transfers, an auto wholesaler, as a sales associate where she was well-known and liked by her many contacts in the industry.
Peggy was a very accomplished individual who believed she could do anything she set her mind to and do it well.
She had a passion for quilting and had an artistic eye that allowed her to create many masterpieces that were gifted to family and friends.
Peggy is preceded in death by her father, Warren Ferrell, and mother-in-law, Margaret Langford.
She is survived by: her husband, Charles Vaughan of Valdosta, Ga.; son, William Hogan Vaughan of
Valdosta; mother, Tommie Williams (Ed) of Perry; sisters, Polly (Rodney) Waller of Perry and
Pam (Greg) Jacobson of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepdaughters, Christie Davis of Thomasville, Ga., and Charlotte Armantrout of Valdosta; nephews, Eric Jacobson of San Francisco, Calif., and Keith (Brenna) Jacobson of Westminster, Colo.; and fur baby, “Cupcake.”
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, at 11 a.m. At Mt. Zion United Methodist
Church, located at 4514 Mt. Zion Church Rd. in Valdosta, with interment following in the church
cemetery.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the churh.
