NWS: 70 mph winds, 6 inches of rain possible

Weather forecasters are warning of the potential for severe storms today (Friday, March 11) that could produce damaging winds up to 70 mph and predicting heavy rainfall of up to six inches through Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee issued an advisory Thursday warning that the storms, which have been affecting the area since Wednesday, could also produce tornadoes and quarter-size hail today.
