Reginald Curtis Tillman was born in Perry on March 3, 1950, to Ephraim and Dorothy Tillman. He departed this life and entered God’s heavenly realm on March 5, 2022.
He was baptized at an early age and was a member of New Brooklyn Baptist Church.
Reginald was educated in the Taylor County School System, beginning school at Jerkins High School and graduating from Taylor County High School, Class of 1969.
After graduating high school, he maintained gainful employment at Winn-Dixie, Buckeye Cellulose and Munchies Food Mart.
Reginald had a very engaging personality as evidenced by the many friends he made through the years, both young and old. He possessed a welcoming smile and a comical disposition. He was also musically talented, playing the drums at various local events and activities. One of his proudest accomplishments was playing drums with the legendary Little Richard.
Reginald encountered some struggles in his life, but he never lost the essence of the “true Reginald,” maintaining his faith in God, his family and his friends.
Reginald Curtis Tillman is survived by: a daughter, Pathina Thomas, Sarasota; three brothers, Tommy Tillman (Melvina), Chesapeake, Va., George Kimble Sr. (Suzette) and Godfrey Walker (Joan), Perry; two aunts, Dr. Willie R. Tillman-Williams and Mrs. Bessie Tillman-Early, Monticello; a goddaughter, Erika Stockton, Tampa; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Reginald was preceded in death by: his parents, Ephraim and Dorothy Tillman; stepmother, Barbara Sparks-Tillman; sister, Leona “Duck” Kimble; and brother, James Kimble Jr.
Viewing will be held Saturday, March 12, at Evans Walker Funeral home from 11 a.m to 1:30 p.m. Followed by graveside services at 2 p.m. At Springhill Cemetery.
