New regulations limit ‘accessory structures’

The Taylor County Commission has approved several changes to the local land development regulations (LDRs) that limit the size and location of “accessory” structures on properties within special and coastal flood hazard areas in the county.

Additionally, the changes require that all manufactured homes in those flood areas that are “placed, replaced or substantially improved” be elevated so that the bottom of the frame is at or above the required elevation for that flood zone.
