The Friends of the Taylor County Public will present an in-person program featuring former Peace Corps volunteer David J. Mather on Monday, March 28, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Mather served with the Peace Corps in southern Chile from 1968-70.
Fifteen years ago, he began visiting Horseshoe Beach. It was this area and its people that inspired the four novels in the Crescent Beach Series: “Crescent Beach,” “Raw Dawgin’,” “The Biloxi Connection” and “Gator Bait.”
“The Biloxi Connection” and “Gator Bait” are adult novels which mix background about Florida’s rural Gulf Coast region and sympathetically well-developed characters with lots of action and subplots.
The program will be held at the Taylor County Public Library, located at 403 North Washington St., and will also be live-streamed on the Friends’ Facebook page.
