Albert Leon O’Quinn
Mr. Albert Leon O’Quinn, 83, passed away at his home in Sirmans on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, following a long illness.
He was born on July 17, 1938, in Sirmans to Alex Delma and Ida Tuten O’Quinn.
Albert joined the U.S. Army reserve in 1958.
He loved spending time with his family and loved to hunt, fish, and to boil peanuts for his family.
He worked for CCA, Container Corporation of America.
After a short time in the logging industry, he began his career with Foley Timber and Land Corporation, where he retired.
He was preceded by: his wife, Alice Ray Touchton O’Quinn; one brother,Burl O’Quinn; and one sister, Dot Blair.
He is survived by: two sons, DeWayne O’Quinn (Kelli) of Greenville and Danny O’Quinn (Amber) of Sirmans; his special friend and companion, Linda Shelly of Lamont; four sisters, Thelma Letchworth of Sopchoppy, Tempa Lee Walker of DeFuniak Springs, Cathie Brooks (Randy) of Tallahassee and Joy Hutchinson (Jesse) of Mexico Beach; seven grandchildren, Steven O’Quinn (Joy), Kristen Eakins (Wil), Chelsy Allen (Garrett), Jonathan O’Quinn (Kelsey), Ethan O’Quinn (Krysta), Mason and Sadee; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at Beggs Chapel (Madison) followed by burial at San Pedro Cemetery. Visitation was held Wednesday, March 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Madison.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lighthouse Children’s Home in Tallahassee.
