Council’s proposed incentives for apartment project are equivalent to an 80% tax abatement

Over the past six years, the City of Perry has approved several different incentive agreements for Prospect Construction and Development Group officials to construct a multi-million apartment complex believed to be the largest residential development ever constructed in Taylor County.

The current incentive package to be voted on by the city council would allow Prospect to apply for financial incentives over a 10-year period beginning on the date the certificate of occupancy is issued on the 344th and final housing unit.
