    Posted on March 30, 2022

Tracy Lee Stevens Whatley, 60, was called home to our Lord on March 22, 2022.

She was born on Aug. 22, 1961, in Haverhill, Mass., to Charles Lawrence Stevens and Talatha MaGaha Stevens.

She grew up in Groveland, Mass., and Honea Path, S.C.

Tracy was a Baptist and lived most of her life in Perry.

She worked at Swain’s Family Restaurant for many years before becoming a phlebotomist at Doctors’ Memorial Hospital. At both careers, she formed lasting friendships with people that turned into family.

Tracy was a past president of the Perry branch of the Lady Elks.

She was a wonderful wife, a loving mother and had a kind soul. She never met a stranger and simply led her life with love and kindness toward anyone she met.

Tracy was especially proud of her children and grandchildren, and spending time with her family and friends was her passion. She was also an avid animal lover.

She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Tracy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gregory Stevens.

She is survived by: her husband of 43 years, Barry Whatley; her sister, Karen Stevens; half-sisters, Denise (Phil) Parry and Jodie (Richard) Camp; her children, Travis Stevens, Nicole (Jeremy) Bain, Gene Whatley and Michelle Whatley; grandchildren, Caitlin Whatley, Jacob Price, Erica Carnley, Robbie Price, Jasmine Stevens, Ryliee Stevens, Jared Bain and Emerson Bain; niece, Talatha Green; and great-grandchildren, Timothy Whatley, Braden Wilkes and Lakelynn Land.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 29, at noon at the National Cemetery in Tallahassee.

Donations may be made in honor of Tracy to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or the Big Bend Hospice Foundation.
