    Phyllis Ann (Driggers) Jackson

    Phyllis Ann (Driggers) Jackson, 81, of Shady Grove passed away peacefully at her home under Covenant Care surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

    Mrs. Jackson was born on Sept. 2, 1940, in Tampa (Hillsborough County) to Alford Cornelius Driggers and Lilly Thelma (Surgener) Driggers.

    She retired from Big Bend Transit where she enjoyed driving those in need.

    She was an active longtime member of Sirmans Baptist Church. She truly enjoyed discipleship study, reading her Bible and telling others about Jesus.

    Mrs. Jackson was happily married for 64 years to John L. Jackson.

    She loved fishing, cookouts and family gatherings. To know her was to love her. She never met a stranger that she would not soon call a friend.

    Mrs. Jackson had a heart of gold and will be loved and missed by her family, friends and fur babies.

    She was preceded in death by: her husband, John L. Jackson; her parents; siblings; son-in-law, Jimmy Wilson; daughter-in-law, Bobbi Jean (Tew) Jackson; two granddaughters, Jennifer Marie Melson and Kasey Lynn Jackson; and one grandson, Opey Pate.

    Mrs. Jackson is survived by: her son, John L. Jackson III (Tonia) of Monticello; four daughters, Brenda Wilson of Shady Grove, Janet Tuten (Pete) of Greenville, Valerie Reeves (Don) of Troy, Ala., and Jonna Leigh Pate of Madison; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and her three fur babies, Priss Anna (Biggie), Gidget and Happy Cat.

    There will be a service for those who would like to give their respects to the family and say their last goodbye to Phyllis Jackson on Saturday, April 2, at Beggs Funeral Home in Madison. Viewing will be held at 1 p.m., followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church (Wildcat) Cemetery.

    Beggs Funeral Home in Madison is in charge of arrangements.
