Theodore “Ted” Henry Martin Jr., 77, passed away on March 28, 2022, in Tallahassee.
Ted was born Feb. 20, 1945, in Oswego, N.Y., to Theodore Henry Martin Sr. and Eleanor Parker Martin.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, serving three tours and receiving the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Infantry medals.
He was a Baptist and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Ted had a passion for flying, so after he service with the Army, he became a crop duster for a period of time.
Later he began working with Watkins Engineering in 1979, retiring from them in 1997 as a project manager.
Some of his hobbies that he really enjoyed were flying and restoring antique cars.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Eleanor Martin Sr., and a brother, Raymond Martin.
Mr. Martin is survived by: his wife of 43 years, Lee Martin; his sisters, Eleanor Wardwell, Nancy (Danny) Griffin and Suzanne Hall; and his brother, Edward (Venus) Martin; as well as a host of nieces
and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held today (Friday) at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church with Dr. Todd Taylor and Dr. Stephen Ruff officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterward at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
