Family, friends, former teammates and players gathered Saturday to honor the legacy left
by longtime City Recreation Department Director Glenn Ratliff, as the Taylor County Commission officially unveiled new signage naming the Taylor County Sports Complex in his honor.
“Glenn Ratliff Memorial Park” was prominently displayed atop the brick sign at the entrance to the complex as more than 200 local youth and their parents gathered to opening day of the Taylor County Baseball Association (TCBA) 2022 youth baseball season. Commissioner Jamie English provided opening remarks, followed by several former players and high school teammates who shared memories of the man who served as City Recreation Department director for 29 years.
