5 weeks remain to qualify to run by petition method

Just five weeks remain for those wishing to run for local elected office this year to qualify through the petition method and avoid paying the qualifying fee.

According to Supervisor of Elections Dana Southerland, the deadline to turn in petitions is 12 noon on May 16.
