Patricia Gunter Vann, 87, passed away on April 11, 2022, at her home in Eridu surrounded by her family.
Pat was born April 6, 1935, in Perry to Willie Gunter and Lorena Holt Gunter.
Mrs. Vann was a Baptist and was a longtime active member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
She served where she was needed, but found joy in serving in the kitchen and singing in the choir.
She was a loving homemaker that enjoyed sewing and crafts.
In her spare time she enjoyed fishing in local rivers and creeks, and she liked to spend time tending to her garden.
She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and the best Nana any family could ask for, and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Mrs. Vann was preceded in death by: her son, Johnny Vann; her parents, Willie Gunter and Lorena Buchanan; her grandchildren, Kevin and Karen Vann, and Michael Vann; two great-grandchildren, Noah Thompson and Alex Cain; her brothers, Raymond Gunter, Willie Joe Gunter and Sammie Gunter; and her sister, Jeanie Carmichael.
She is survived by: her loving husband of 68 years, Charlie F. Vann; their children, Terry (Spyder) Vann, Ray (Lee) Vann, Lynn Tedder, Joe (Lori) Vann and Rena (Jody) Courtney; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Driver; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many, many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Pastor Gil Williams and Pastor Jerry Norris officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterward in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Those who wish, may make donations to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in her honor.
