Congressional district may change

Regardless of which side wins the current standoff between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature over re-drawing the state’s congressional district map, it appears that Taylor County’s District 2 will look quite different than it does now.

Currently, District 2 is the largest congressional district in Florida in terms of land area, and includes all of Bay, Calhoun, Dixie, Franklin, Gilchrist, Gulf, Jackson, Lafayette, Levy, Liberty, Suwannee, Taylor, Wakulla and Washington counties, as well as portions of Columbia, Holmes, Jefferson, Leon and Marion counties.
