Friends of Library host ‘Meet the Author’ night

    Posted on April 20, 2022

The Friends of the Taylor County Public Library will present an in-person program with author D. W. Goates on Monday, April 25, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Goates is the author of the historical romantic Gothic style novel, “A Witch’s Burden,” which is described as a “dark fictional (but well-researched) story which takes place during the summer of 1830 in the Kingdom of Bavaria in Germany.”

Like his protagonist, Elke Schreiber, Goates is a history teacher without any students. Many years have passed since he lived in Germany, and he now resides in Florida with his wife and a menagerie of woodland creatures.

A Witch’s Burden — named finalist in the 2020 Next Generation Indie Book Awards — is his first novel. Monday night’s program is free and open to the public.

The program will be at the Taylor County Public Library, located at 403 N. Washington and also live-streamed on the Friends’ Facebook page.
